About Mindanao Farm

A real working valley in Mindanao: rows of coconut palms, a river, and three strips at three different heights. Farm Grass is an 800 m grass strip on the valley floor, River Plain a 600 m grass strip about 8 m higher, and Export Field a 1,500 m asphalt runway about 15 m up.

Flights in Mindanao Farm

• Takeoff and free flight — Build speed on the ground or hand launch, fly where you like, and come back when you are ready.
• Guided circuit and landing — Fly the pattern leg by leg — crosswind, downwind, base, final — then land and come to a stop.
• Landing approach practice — Start on final, follow the glide slope and the PAPI lights, and touch down on the numbers.
• Airfield hop — Fly to the next strip and land on it. The longest leg of the four.

How to fly Mindanao Farm

Every strip sits at a different height, so set up each approach for the field you are actually landing on. The hop between them is the best practice in the simulator for judging height.

Fly it from the ground view (press 3) to practise the way you would at the field, with the model coming back toward you, or from the chase camera (C cycles the views).
