About the simulator

A free drone simulator that runs in your browser

Lumipad is a free flight simulator for drones, FPV quads and radio-controlled aeroplanes. It is built for people learning to fly: students, beginners buying a first drone, and pilots who want stick time before taking a real aircraft out. The physics are momentum-based — the drone carries its speed, tips to move and has to be flown back to a stop — so what you practise here transfers.

It runs in a browser tab. Nothing to download, nothing to install, and no account needed to start: it works on a school laptop, a borrowed computer or a phone in landscape. There are no ads anywhere in it.

Three simulators

Drone

The drone flight simulator is the place to start. It is stabilised — let go of the sticks and it holds its attitude — with missions on every map: racing rings, deliveries, package drops, precision landings and free flight.

FPV

The free FPV simulator is the same worlds flown from the quad's own camera, with body-axis rate control and Betaflight-style rates. Plug in a USB radio or a gamepad for full acro, or fly it in Angle mode on the keyboard.

What you need

A modern browser, and one of: a keyboard, a phone, a gamepad, or a USB transmitter in joystick mode. Nothing to install. A controller setup page maps and calibrates whatever you plug in.

Questions

Is it really free?
Yes. No ads, no in-app purchases, nothing to buy. You can try a limited number of guest flights. After that, you need a free verified account. Some missions require sign-in earlier.
Do I need to download anything?
No. It runs in the browser tab you are reading this in.
Can I use my radio controller?
Yes — any USB joystick-mode transmitter or gamepad. EdgeTX and OpenTX radios work over the standard USB HID path.
Does it work on a phone?
Yes, in landscape, with two touch sticks.
Is it good practice for real flying?
It builds stick skills and orientation, which are the hard parts early on. It does not replace real training or a licence.
